Materials:

• 1 yard (914 mm) of 100% cotton fabric
• 1 yard (914 mm) of lightweight batting
• 1 yard (914 mm) of lightweight fusible batting
• 1 yard (914 mm) of felt
• 1 yard (914 mm) of embroidery floss
• 1 skein (300 yards) of embroidery floss
• 1 pair of embroidery needles
• 1 pattern for a beehive

Instructions:

Step 1: Cut the fabric pieces.

• Cut 2 pieces of 100% cotton fabric, each measuring 12 inches x 18 inches (305 mm x 457 mm).
• Cut 2 pieces of lightweight batting, each measuring 12 inches x 18 inches (305 mm x 457 mm).
• Cut 2 pieces of lightweight fusible batting, each measuring 12 inches x 18 inches (305 mm x 457 mm).
• Cut 2 pieces of felt, each measuring 12 inches x 18 inches (305 mm x 457 mm).

Step 2: Assemble the beehive.

• Sew the 2 cotton fabric pieces together, right sides together, to form the body of the beehive.
• Sew the 2 batting pieces together, right sides together, to form the sides of the beehive.
• Sew the 2 fusible batting pieces together, right sides together, to form the top of the beehive.
• Pin the 2 pieces of felt together to form the beehive lid.

Step 3: Attach the beehive to a frame.

• Cut a piece of embroidery floss that is 30 inches long.
• Tie the floss to a skein of embroidery floss and tie the other end to the top of the beehive.

Step 4: Decorate the beehive.

• You can decorate the beehive with beads, sequins, or other embellishments.
• You can also add a bee or other insect pattern to the front of the beehive.

Step 5: Finishing touches.

• Hand-wash the beehive in cold water.
• Iron the beehive on the back side to remove wrinkles.
• Hang the beehive from a hook or nail.
